Breastfeeding 101

Breastfeeding mothers need all the support they can get! Our class will offer you dozens of professional video clips, utilizing a state of the art DVD to follow along with instructor curriculum, step by step instructions, printouts, and weblinks.
All Care Connection classes are small by design in order to provide personal attention.
Topics Include:
How Breastfeeding Works:
- Breastfeeding is natural, the early weeks, how your breasts make milk, the letdown reflex, how your milk changes, special situations
- Latching on and positioning
- Getting off to a good start, mother & baby positioning, latching on, breastfeeding holds, and feeding patterns
When To Feed Your Baby:
- Hunger signs, crying patterns, sleepy eaters, pacifiers and bottle feeding.
- How much Is enough?
- How to know that your baby is getting enough milk, counting diapers, weight gain, feeding log, jaundice.
- Breast Care: breast fullness, expressing your milk by hand, engorgement, blocked ducts, nipple care, sore & cracked nipples, and breast infection.
Breastfeeding Lifestyle:
- Taking care of yourself, family planning, diet for breastfeeding mothers, returning to work, expressing and storing your milk.
Classes are taught by a Care Connection IBCLC Lactation Consultant.

Happy Baby

Infant CPR
Our CPR classes are being held in person at at our 3991 Harlem Road location. They are small by design in order to provide personal attention as well to adhere to the Covid-19 Guidelines. Masks are required, social distancing and health screening will be in place. Please call with any questions you may have and to reserve you place in this class. 716-725-6370.

During this two hour American Heart Association Friends & Family CPR course for infants and children you will learn:
- Life-threatening emergencies and the chain of survival for all ages.
- Prevention of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, injuries, and choking.
- CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction for infant and child victims.
Please note, this class is introductory and does not result in CPR certification.
