In the spirit of Mother’s Day, The Care Connection Lactation and Wellness Center is hosting their annual Diaper Drive to help local moms.
According to the National Diaper Bank Network, 1 in 3 U.S. moms report experiencing diaper needs. Diapers are considered a hygiene item; therefore it is not covered through government assisted programs.
There are families that simply cannot afford an adequate amount of diapers which can result in babies who are in diapers longer than they should be. This can lead to diaper rash, infections and other health problems. Diapers are essential for a healthy development.
Consulting with the creator of Every Bottom Covered, Raziya Hill, and hearing the needs of families in WNY, The Care Connection’s Diaper Drive hopes to help the community with this need. The Care Connection collected over 18,000 diapers in their first Diaper Drive. They hope to collect even more this year.
All disposable diapers from newborn to size 6 are welcome, including open packages. All donations will benefit Every Bottom Covered
Donations will be accepted on Saturday, May 12th from 9am until 4pm at:
The Care Connection Lactation and Wellness Center
3991 Harlem Rd
Amherst, NY 14226
We hope you will join us this year and help support families throughout Western New York!
